How it Works

All participants in the Illinois video gaming market must be licensed: from the manufacturers making the machines to the companies that distribute the games to the VGT operators who manage them at the host bar and restaurants. Each licensed establishment (the host) is required to work with a licensed VGT operator. And most importantly, each licensed machine is required to be linked constantly to the state's central communications network.

Profit then collected from each machine is divided between the terminal operator and the host - after taxes are paid.

  • Operators are responsible for 100% of all capital costs
  • Operators and establishments split after-tax profits 50/50

How will a VGT operator help grow my business?

Our work doesn’t end after installing the machines and turning them on. Lattner Entertainment will monitor the payouts of each machine constantly, seeking the perfect match for your customers' entertainment preferences. We will develop sustained, integrated marketing programs to bring new customers into your establishment, and keep current customers coming back more often.

If you have a valid liquor or pouring license, you can apply to become a licensed host establishment today! Lattner Entertainment will guide you through the application, licensing and installation process, and work with you to develop a marketing strategy that will help you drive new customers and keep them coming back to your establishment to enjoy this new entertainment amenity.

How much am I going to make?

Projections range from $60 to over $150 win per unit per day (WPU), or as much as $136,875 for the host establishment each year. While the WPU will be determined by a number of factors, Lattner Entertainment will work with you to make sure we have the machine mix best suited for your establishment. Our approach will be to add machines based on proven success.

What is it going to cost me?

By law, the operator (Lattner Entertainment) - not the host establishment - must cover the start-up and development costs. The host is only responsible for obtaining a valid gaming license: $100.

When do I have to choose an operator?

Right Now - but do your homework. Not all VGT operators are the same. You want to choose an operator that has integrity, knowledge, and a proven track record for success. Your Lattner Account Manager will walk you through the entire process of licensing, and continue to do so long after the “Go LIVE”.
